Orangeries

Orangeries were originally built for growing citrus trees. Nowadays, you’ll enjoy them as a stylish extension and a small, comfortable extra living space attached to a living or dining room. Or perhaps as an expanded and airy open-plan orangery kitchen.

PVCu Orangery

An orangery conservatory offers you a smart, usable and adaptable alternative to conservatories or full-built extensions – with a cool elegance all of their own.

What makes UPVC orangeries unique are their flat roof sections. These rest between UPVC perimeter frames, with a separate lantern roof setting off a graceful look. This gives you a smart atrium roof and lets in lots of natural light. And the windows and double glazing are insulated to retain heat in winter and keep things cool in the sunshine. They also have low walls or full-height brick piers supporting the glass extension structure. That stylish appearance is enhanced by internal plastering, with smart down-lighting installations often fitted into the ceiling space around the lantern roof.  So the UPVC orangery feels like a comfortable, additional room rather than a separate building.

A modern UPVC orangery can also create a handy connection between two existing rooms or buildings. You could even build in a set of our bi-folding doors to create a bright and dazzling “wall of glass” effect. It’s perfect for opening up your home for a summer barbecue or party.

Timber Orangery

Timber orangeries give you an extension with a touch of class. They add extra living space with a graceful look, perhaps connected or attached to a living or dining room.  A spacious open plan timber orangery kitchen is an attractive idea, too.

A timber orangery conservatory also offers you a neat alternative to a full conservatory installation or a more common extension structure so they’ll give an extra elegant touch to your home.

It is the flat roof which makes timber orangeries unique. These are supported by perimeter timber frames, with a separate lantern roof providing an additional appearance of elegance and style. This creates a smart atrium roof for lots of natural light. And your bills will be kept down by insulation which retains heat in winter – but keeps things cool when the sunshine pours in through the roof and windows during summer.

It makes for a perfect extra living space at any time of year. And again, you can enhance the stylish appearance with smart down-lighting installations often fitted into the ceiling space around the lantern roof. This will give your traditional timber orangery the feel of a handy and comfortable additional room.

You can even build one to connect two existing rooms or structures. It’s a smart way to add space and light to your life all year round.
